Flower Power

I was in Rochester this weekend and took the opportunity to spruce up the yard. Saturday my mom and I went to Sargents, a terrific local nursery, and picked flowers to plant in the window boxes. I think my mom has helped Amy or myself almost every year since we moved to Rochester.

I think I turned out pretty nice, but as you can see we really need some landscaping, paint around the windows and a new roof..

Giving a Helping Hand

My mom is in town and today she had successful Carpal Tunnel Surgery on her right hand. She had the left hand done a couple of years ago and now she has a complete set…

Things went pretty quick. We got to
St. Mary’s around 6:00 am and I had her home by 10:00 am.

And as always, everyone on staff was very kind and helpful to my mom and made her feel very special. Thank you... We really are lucky to have a facility like Mayo so close by.

Easter

I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend. Amy and I visited my mom and some of my family in Southern Illinois. It’s about 600 miles from Rochester and with Amy living in Dallas I haven’t gotten down to see her as much as I would like so this weekend was special.

On Saturday my mom and I went to St. Louis to pick up Amy from the airport and since we where in St. Louis I took the opportunity to see my friend Lloyd at his rink. Lloyd and I where roommates in college and he was also the best man at our wedding.

That night Amy and I hooked up with a high school friend of my dad’s, Jack. Jack took us to a private bar. Swipe card and all, called the Buccaneer. They have 402 members and beers are only $1.50… This is in a town of about 3,000.. Oh, and we asked Jack if we could join.. He said no…

Sunday, Amy and I went to church with my mom, Aunt Gayla and her grandchildren. Yes… I went to church and no one got struck by lightning… My mom also worked on the Easter display, pictured above.

Deez Nuts Over Big "D"

Here's the latest news on the McIntosh’s’…

It was reported in March that I was going to leave my job and join Amy in Dallas mid April until August where we would both return to Rochester upon Amy completing her fellowship. Then I would seek an employment opportunity in Rochester.

Well, that’s changed. A terrific opportunity has presented itself to me allowing me stay with
my employer and relocate my daily duties to Rochester. It may not sound like all that and a bag of chips… But… I have been driving and hour (each way) to and from work for about 6 years now (that’s 500 hours per year or about 3,000 hours over the last 6 years)… If you work 40 hours a week that’s only 2,000 hours. Dude! That’s a lot of blogging time…

Now, when Amy returns to Rochester in August we will have more opportunities to see each other. We may even have lunch from time to time, which we have never had the opportunity to do during the work week, ever…

Photogenic or Psychotic?

I don’t care what you say. I think it’s moments like these that make you want to vote for Mrs. Clinton….

I think this maybe the reaction Bill got for the Mrs. when he offered her a cigar….

Here’s the caption:

Last Day @ Jackson Hole

Amy and I really enjoyed vacation in Jackson Hole, WY. We had an awesome condo that we shared with two other couples, Amy’s fellow fellow Bryan and his wife Michelle and their friends Aaron and Sari.

The skiing was more difficult than I expected. The mountain had several different “types” of snow due to the weather, icy conditions at the top and a slushy wet texture at the bottom with mostly tight steep runs. Not many “cruiser” runs. But I’m glad to have the experience….

We are already talking about next year (out west and western UP)… HoekZies….

Dr. Hartman?

Congradulations Mike!!!! I didn’t know Orthopedic Surgeons could do a Fellowship in Proctology… or maybe that’s why those men feel so violated because they really sought out your "services" for sports related injures… and what “exactly” is a Tommy John’s surgery?

Smoke'n Babe'E

My friend Paul recently was in a Northern Michigan bar where he spotted these fine ladies strutting their stuff. You may notice one of these beauties is strutting more than the others. Hey, just because your prego doesn’t mean you can’t wear low rise jeans and a belly shirt. Oh, and the smoking I’m sure is helping her keep her weight down during this unwanted pregnancy….

The other thing here is that Paul was able to get a picture of this. Much like the silly people with mullets, that are always getting photographed, they don’t now what they’re doing is wrong…..

March?

In the last week Rochester has gotten more that 2 feet of snow.. We had 2 big storms and it took more than 2 hours each time to remove the snow. As usual I plowed out most of my neighbors. I think it’s the least I can do for them to putting up with me the rest of the time.

After all the hard work was done I got in some snowmobiling.. Kind of looks like and express way doesn’t it.. Good thing I have over a 150 HP to utilize these smooth trails… To bad Minnesota has a 50 mph speed limit.. Ya, I let that stop me from triple digits ….

Give a Hoot!

Another fun filled weekend in Dallas. This last weekend Amy and I where joined by our hometown (UP) friends Becky and Tanya. These are a couple of crazy broads…

Let’s just say this wasn’t the only time that I was surrounded by Hooters

Scooter or Tooter

Here’s a new sign that I noticed at the San Diego Zoo this weekend… It’s supposed to indicate that this area will accommodate both wheelchairs and scooters. I think it looks like a guy flipping in the air and pooping on a wheelchair dude..

Shamuu Muu

Amy and I went to SeaWorld San Diego on Sunday and how appropriate was it that we spotted a whale tail…

Pimp-My-Boni

Amy and I went to the Dallas Stars game on Saturday with some of Amy’s fellow fellow’s. Our apartment is only a couple of miles from the American Airlines Center where the Stars and Mavs play, so we took advantage of the 50 plus degree temps and walked to the game.. We joked on the way, that from Thursday in Rochester to Saturday in Dallas, I had experienced about a 70 degree temperature swing…

Between periods they drove around this Pimp-Out
Zamboni.. Pretty cool.
