No Pump'n Munch

Joey and I are in Dallas today and we decided to check out one of 12 Kwik-E-Mart’s that 7-Eleven has made-over in a promotion for the up coming Simpson’s Movie.

You will notice that this Kwik-E-Mart is authentic, right down to the Squishee Machine. I passed on the 570 calories and got a 64oz Double Gulp of Diet Dr. Pepper, Big-Tone would be proud.

Amy and I have a friend Nate and he has his own blog that we enjoy looking in on from time-to-time to see what Nate and his family are doing. Usually, it has something to do with Nate and Christine’s daughter Anisley mastering something that I can only dream of accomplishing someday…

However, I have noticed a common theme over the last year… Nate posts a lot of pictures of himself on his blog w/o a shirt on… I think that’s a little odd… So, above you will find a collogue of photo’s of Nate w/o his shirt on that I retrieve from his blog…

To be fair.. Nate does wear shirts on Sundays…..

Yopper Ki-Yay

We have been having a great 4th of July vacation in the UP.. However, we did push our luck on Friday night by attending The Bruce Willis Band show at the local casino. Bruce Willis sucks.. He was late, had to read the music because he couldn’t remember the words, and kept apologizing for the poor performance as people walked out….

Later we met up with some friends (see Amy w/Danielle below) at The Sand Bar in Gladstone and found the local band Driver to be much better than Bruce Willis..

And yes.... Bruce did say yippie ki-yay mother f*#ker..........

If you’re ever in the Oshkosh, WI area with time to spare you need to venture about 40 miles to the west for this restaurant in Wautoma, WI. The Sivercryst is an “old school” restaurant and lounge supper club with a lake view. Good steaks, grilled prime rib, and a super cool bar.

Amy and I try to incorporate The Sivercryst into our treks home to the UP. And yes, we where drawn in by the big ass kow……

MANISTIQUE, Michigan (AP) -- Researchers will visit Michigan's Upper Peninsula next month to search for evidence of the legendary creature known as "Bigfoot" or "Sasquatch” and/or Jason Micheau…

The expedition will focus on eastern Marquette County, said Matthew Moneymaker of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization.

"We'll be looking for evidence supporting a presence. ... We hope to meet local people who might have seen a Sasquatch or heard of someone else who had an encounter," Moneymaker told the Daily Press of Escanaba.

The legend of Bigfoot dates back centuries. But skeptics have challenged accounts of sightings, and practical jokers have staged hoaxes that have included grainy film footage of people dressed in costumes.

But Moneymaker said members of his organization have either glimpsed Bigfoot or gotten close enough to hear the creature in all but three of 30 expeditions in the United States and Canada.

The late Grover Krantz, a Washington State University professor who specialized in cryptozoology, the study of creatures that have not been proven to exist, believed Bigfoot was a "gigantopithecus," a branch of primitive man believed to have existed 3 million years ago.

Eli's First Birthday

Amy and I had a pretty full weekend right here in Minnesota. That’s right.. Amy made it to Rochester for the 2nd time since July..

I met Amy in Minnie on Friday and we visited with her family that had all made it in for our nephew Eli’s 1st birthday, which was Saturday. We did lots our driving to and from the cities but that’s why we got that small commuter car….

It was great seeing everyone and it was good to have Amy home for a couple of days..

Joey went to the vet yesterday and got a clean bill of health. He weighed in @ 3.5lbs. I know Rudi and Jon really wanted to know…

When Joey gets older his ears will stick up. A couple of days ago his right ear decided that it was ready.. I think he looks like The Rock, you know “the peoples eyebrow”.

Booz2Go?

These Dutch students may be a little off on the target market, but it’s a great idea non-the-less.. You could have a few of these little wonders on you at the bar and dash them on your Redbull and Vodka..

Dutch students have developed powdered alcohol which they say can be sold legally to minors.

The latest innovation in inebriation, called Booz2Go, is available in 20-gramme packets that cost 1-1.5 euros ($1.35-$2).

Top it up with water and you have a bubbly, lime-colored and -flavored drink with just 3 percent alcohol content.

"We are aiming for the youth market. They are really more into it because you can compare it with Bacardi-mixed drinks," 20-year-old Harm van Elderen told Reuters.

Van Elderen and four classmates at Helicon Vocational Institute, about an hour's drive from Amsterdam, came up with the idea as part of their final-year project.

"Because the alcohol is not in liquid form, we can sell it to people below 16," said project member Martyn van Nierop.

The legal age for drinking alcohol and smoking is 16 in the Netherlands.

In Germany, alcopops -- sweet drinks containing alcohol and in powder form -- caused quite a stir when launched on to the market. Alcohol powder, classified as a flavoring, was sold in the United States three years ago.

The students said companies interested in making the product commercially could avoid taxes because the alcohol was in powder form. A number of companies are interested, they said.
