Sickle of Fortune

This guy is not working on his golf game. That's Jack Remick, Rochester businessman and one of the founders of Fastenal, and he's trimming weeds with a sickle on the edge of some property that he donated to the local Catholic high school. Why would that be unique? He probably owns (or has owned) 4-5 million shares of Fastenal stock (trades @ $30ish/share)... Not to mention his business and social impact in the Rochester community.
Just a little more to go...

These are photo's I took today of local businessman Jack Remick, one of the founders of Fastenal. You may remember back when I wasn't a S@HD I worked for Fastenal. Sometimes I reflect on why I enjoyed my career with Fastenal so much... Well, this photo sums it up.. Mr. Remick is worth millions and has been a major contributor to Rochester's success... Yet, he's not above put'n in a little sweat equity...

Basically, the attitude at Fastenal is everyone can do everything and no one is above anything. Heck, the CEO has a CDL license... He could drive one of inventory feeder semi trucks if it needed to be done.

Which leaves us with Mr. Remick, retired from the Board of Directors, out trimming some weeds because it's something that needs to be done... Tip of the Cap Sir...

I love people like this. We have an orthodontist in town that does this too. Pretty cool!
