Skin Boat to Tuna Town

I guess the PC police have even re-named Siamese Twins. Now they are called Conjoined Twins… What happened? Did this term offend Thai people or did it offend twins that didn’t want to be associated with Thai people…

Anyway today at the WFMC a “team” of doctors will separate Siamese Twins..

Apparently, I have a fascination with bicycles when I’ve had a cocktail or twooo. This time I borrowed my little buddy Mason’s bike. I did some tricks (wheels, bunny hop, and I worked on a few new moves).

Lucky for me I didn’t have to ride it home, on a flat, 10 miles in the dark, wearing khakis and an oxford, after forgetting my beef jerky and Diet Pepsi at the Holiday Station Store…….

Season's Hospice

As many of you know my dad has been battling pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver over the last few months. He’s been in and out of the hospital and skilled nursing facilities trying to build his strength so he can accept treatment to fight the cancer. Even with his strong will, endless effort and positive attitude he’s not going to get healthy enough to get treatment.
Yesterday we moved my dad from St. Mary’s to Season’s Hospice.. Season’s is a beautiful home that has been turned in to a hospice facility that is located SW of Rochester over looking the countryside. It has a wooded setting with lots gardens, bird feeders, walking/riding paths, a pond, gazebo, and deer walk though at dust as if they are queued to do so.
We are very happy to have him there. The staff is delightful and very kind. I can’t think of a better place for my dad to be right now.

Cinco de Mayo

Short work week for the Mexicans with Monday being Uno de Mayo (make your own burrito day) and today Cinco de Mayo. Wow, wonder why that Paso is so low to the Dollar….

El Cinco de Mayo ("The Fifth of May" in

Spanish) is a national celebration in Mexico. It commemorates the victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza over the French expeditionary forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

And yes it is big in Rochester because on the Mayo Clinic...

Here is Rush Limbaugh’s mug shot taken today (April 28, 2006). Rush turned himself in to police in Florida and was charged with prescription drug fraud as part of a probe that began more than two years ago, authorities said. Rush was released on $3,000 bail after being held for about one hour.

I wonder if Bill Clinton doesn’t get a little chuckle out of this……

I took this photo on February 15, 2006, back when gas was $1.99 and that was just 2-1/2 months ago . Now it’s $2.85 and on the rise.

Congratulations to Pete and Sarah

On behalf of all the wives, I would like to invite Sarah to the family and rank of PGY-5…. Sarah has the privilege of being the last “residency” swooper..

Swooper: A swooper is a person that met their physician significant other after high-school, under-grad, med-school, and/or during residency…. Basically after all of the hard work and suffering is dun.. (right Jon)

But seriously, Amy and I are extremely happy for Pete and Sarah.. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. We where honored to be part of their big day and it was a pleasure to meeting and spending time with Pete and Sarah’s friends and family, which explained a lot about these two krazy kids…..

Amy and I look forward to being life long friends with the Rose’s here in Rochester, Dallas, St. Louis, Manhattan, or even Escanaba…
