Coal in the Stocking

I woke up and decided today will be the day Quincy meets Old St. Nic... Well, I should have paid attention in past years or at least planned a dry run... So, I got there and was happy to see that there was no line.. I soon found out why...

#1. A little pricey... $45 for a one minute photo shoot... a few pics, CD copy, a stuffed owl???, and I can go on line and name a star.... creepy....

#2. Santa could a least put on his outfit... It's like we caught him "stuff'n coal down the poot shoot"... and you have to love his Crooks.. He must work that kiosk out of season...

#3. I had random people on the street take a better photo.. (I crapped it the best I could..)

With all that Quincy didn't seem to mind... He laughed and smiled... Probably happy to be out of my hands for a minute... Quincy did end up falling asleep at the mall for about two hours... Good thing they have a Sears....

Next year I'll do my research... I her MOA brings in a ringer from Bonner's in Frankenmuth, MI...

Pee-nal Code Violation #1

I guess this means in the future we won't have any trained janitors...

But seriously... The teacher probably could have made a better decision here.. but the mom called the police... Maybe the mom was the same freak that called to police from a fast food restaurant for getting her order wrong..

Full story below...

A Florida kindergarten teacher has been removed from her classroom duties after asking a six-year-old student to mop up the urine of another child in a school restroom. Educator Martha Ensley "admitted she made a poor decision" Monday morning in her classroom at Floresta Elementary School, according to the below Port St. Lucie Police Department report. After Jada Portieles, 6, reported that another student had urinated on the bathroom floor, Ensley, 51, asked the girl to "help out" by cleaning up after a male classmate (who frequently pees all over the bathroom and refuses to "clean up his mess"). After Portieles mopped up the urine with toilet paper, Ensley rewarded the child with three "Dolphin Dollars," play money used within the school. Police began investigating the incident after Portieles's "very upset" mother came to school yesterday morning and told administrators about her daughter's work as a junior janitor. After consulting with prosecutors, cops determined that Ensley had not committed a crime. The teacher claimed that she did not "realize the ramifications of her decision," and said she was not trying to "demean the student or cause her any harm." At one point, Ensley asked police if it was okay to have students clean glue off their desktops. A cop explained that, "there was a difference between cleaning glue and pencil marks and cleaning bodily fluid."

College?

Wow... Have you estimated what it will cost for your children to go to college yet? Ouch!!! If Quincy goes to a state school we could expect to pay $50,000/year!!! Maybe Quincy will be an only child.... :)

I have big plans for Quincy in a nice state school.... or maybe I can "Home School" his college years... People do it K-12... Why not undergrad? I see it as an untapped resource here.. and I have plenty of experience in undergrad.....

Who needs the hustle and bustle of the liquor store... when you have the internet...

My work here is done.....

Pimp'n da Nobel Peace Prize Bling...

How would you characterize our President? President or Celebrity? He's Time Magazines 2008 Person of the Year, just won the Nobel Peace Prize, and probably has spent more time on primetime network TV than American Idol...
I have nothing against him and I'm not suggesting that he is responsible for all the hype.. It just concerns me that his pop icon status may diminish the respect of the position he holds..
A beaming President Barack Obama said Friday he was both honored and humbled to win the Nobel Peace Prize and would accept it as a "call to action" to work with other nations to solve the world's most pressing problems.
Obama told reporters in the White House Rose Garden that he wasn't sure he had done enough to earn the award, or deserved to be in the company of the "transformative figures" who had won it before him.
But, he said, "I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century."

Obama, 48, is the third U.S. president to win the prize while in office, after Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow WilsonFormer President Jimmy Carter won the prize in 2002, more than two decades after he left office.

Make'n Whoopi, Not Whoopi Whoopi..

I love it when people like Whoopi Goldberg have a soap box like the View and don't take the 2 minutes of due diligence required to form and educated opinion, but it is our fault for giving "stars" that type of power..

Here's a copy of the court report from Roman Polanski's "rape" trial... I would say a drugged 13 year old involved with an adult in acts of sodomy, intercourse and other sexual acts should warrant our concern. Whoopi suggests, maybe that's more accepted in France.. Their society is different and we're trying to hold Roman accountable to an American standard......

Wow, and it took me a minute to find this... and I'm nobody... Well that's my 2 cents...

Look Out Spike!! Mike is back with Nike!!

Today it was announced that Michael Vick was picked back up by Nike on an endorsement deal.... I get the NFL allowing him to work in an environment that he is qualified to do so... but Nike! WTF... Why would I want his endorsement on anything... bad move Nike... bad move...

I don't know how I'll do it.. but I'll JUST DO IT!!! Stop buying Nike products...

AUGUST 24, 2007--Michael "Ookie" Vick has agreed to plead guilty to a felony charge for his role in the management of a brutal dogfighting ring that was headquartered at a Virginia property owned by the NFL star. Vick, 27, is expected to formally enter his guilty plea Monday in an appearance at U.S. District Court in Richmond. As part of a plea deal, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback admitted that his Bad Newz Kennels operation wagered money--which he provided--in pit bull fights. However, "Vick did not gamble by placing side bets on any of the fights," according to a "summary of the facts" that was filed today in court. That document, a copy of which you'll find below, also notes that Vick "was aware" that three of his cohorts killed several dogs that performed poorly in test fighting sessions in mid-2002. The summary reports that "Vick did not kill any dogs at this time." Earlier this year, Vick, and two cronies "agreed to the killing of approximately 6-8 dogs" that fared poorly in testing sessions at his Smithfield, Virginia property. Some of the animals were drowned or hanged, and Vick "stipulated" that the animals died via the "collected efforts" of himself, and codefendants Quanis Phillips and Purnell Peace. Both Phillips and Peace previously pleaded guilty to federal charges and stated that Vick participated in the execution of eight dogs last April. Vick faces a maximum of five years in prison for his conspiracy conviction. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE COURT REPORT
