Travel Props!

I must give a shout out to Dan Kurt.. Dan travels internationally quite a bit and he dropped a few nuggets of wisdom on me!!!

#1. Dan told me I was an idiot for not flying first class... Well, I couldn't swing the extra $10,000 it would have taken to upgrade to sit with Amy, so she rebooked here flight in economy class with me... Saving mother mayo $10,000. Other than the LARGE woman that I shared my seat with from Minnie to Amsterdam the flight went well.

Kwik run down... Sat @ 9m we departed and got our first drinks and diner, slept, drinks, slept, drinks, breakfast, drinks... land in Amsterdam.. Sun 1pm we departed, flight attendants got WAY HOTTER... Sometimes it's nice not to follow equal opportunity labor practices.. Oh ya' drinks, drinks and lunch, watched Superbad (uncut and I too suffered from drawing dicks as a small child), drinks, The Simpsons Movie, drinks and desert, and the latest Die Hard movie, drinks.. The beers came in little Red Bull like cans...

#2. Dan told me about seatguru.com. This gave me the information I would need for what to bring with me on the flight and what to expect on the flight..

#3. Dan told me to register with Hyatt Gold Passport. With our stay in Dubai we will be platinum for 2 years... Also, as I'm writing this I'm enjoying a $24 AED ($6.50 USD) coffee for free. I also get a free paper..

#4. Dan blogged on a trip about how the lighting in the room works. I almost got it right. We had to call the desk.. I had the key upside down..

Thanks again Dan...

Traveling DINKs

DINKs (Double Income No Kids)

Hello from Dubai!! Amy and I got here on Sunday and have been taking in the sights. Dubai is a really cool city in the UAE (United Arab of Emirates) located on the Arabian Gulf (a stones throw from IRAQ...

We are staying at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, the largest 5 star hotel in Dubai (for now). It goes for $2,000 AED ($55o USD) per night, but I have found that of all things coffee is by far the most expensive thing!!! It's $20 AED per cup!! That $6-7 USD!!!! For a cup of JOE... Not a Latte or Cappuccino, but coffee.. Lucky for me the have Starbucks and Caribou Coffee.. The Arab coffee is BLAM!!!

This is the Burj Al Arab, the worlds only 7 star hotel.. (They most hold and wipe for the extra 2 stars..) It's the hotel that Tiger Woods hits the drive of the helipad.. I have no idea how much it is to stay here. They probably don't even have a price. You must bring a chest of gold and jewels or something..

Yes, Dubai even has an indoor Ski Park at a Mall... It's actually pretty functional.. So much for Poopy Land MOA!!!

Currently Dubai is in the process of building 500 new building (right now..) and this is a section where just over 200 are under construction. The Burj Dubai (not in the pic) will be the tallest building in the world when completed.. They are currently up to the 158th floor...

Rush Hour!!!

Dubai is cool.. It's super clean. Service is incredible. And the people are very nice. They love America. Seriously, it's suburbia America on HGH.. Applebee's, Chili’s, Hardies’, McD's, you name it..

Gym of Dreams

After my post of Sad Sahd... An alumni from GHS made a comment about probably the most disappointing lost opportunity in Gladstone Brave sports history.

In 1990 the UP did not recognize men's gymnastics as a sport, yet Gladstone had arguably one of the best male gymnast in David Fletcher. David is the picture of dedication. Knowing he would never be allowed to compete it never stopped him from training with the women's team, hoping for a chance to dance.

David tried to fill the void the the theatre... butt it wasn't the stage he was destine for......

Sad Sahd

I have a "friend" Jon that I have refereed to in the past a few times on the blog. Jon also leaves little "nuggets" of wisdom in my comments. Jon is also a sahd (stay at home dad)..

After seeing this video I would not recommend to anyone the "carrier" of sahd.. As you can see it can only make you sad..

Pee Free

It's on it's way!!! With 3,000 sq ft of carpeting I'm a little nervous about Joey taking liberties.. Luckily, Joey spends most of his time on the 1,500 sq ft that are hardwood. But he does sneek off sometimes.

Rug Doctor Urine Eliminator is a revolutionary new product that destroys the source of human- and pet-origin odors and stains such as stains from urine, feces, blood, vomit, perspiration and much more. Rather than simply masking odors and removing only surface stains like leading competitor products, Urine Eliminator’s EverFresh® technology removes surface-level odor immediately while active enzymes seek out and consume the deep-down source of stains and odors. It even destroys odors deep within the carpet backing and pad, deterring pets from re-marking the area. Eliminating Odors and Stains in Your Home

When you order Urine Eliminator, you will receive the following:
2 24-oz. spray bottles of Urine Eliminator
1 24-oz. spray bottle of Spot & Stain Remover
1 Urine Detector UV light for detecting hidden sources of odors and stains.

Safe for Your Family and PetsUrine Eliminator is safe for humans and pets. It can be used on mattresses, pet beds, carpets, upholstery, and almost anywhere you need to remove pet- or human-origin stains and odors. Rid Your Home of Unwanted Odors

Complete the following steps to destroy stains and odors for good:
1. In a darkened room, scan the carpet or
upholstery with the Urine Detector light about 6 inches above suspect areas.
Contaminated carpets and materials will glow where accidents have occurred.
2. Generously spray the contaminated area with Urine Eliminator. Be sure to
thoroughly wet the area so the product reaches the backing and pad. Do not blot
or wipe the area.
3. Place a damp, color-safe towel over the area and let the area dry naturally.
4. If stains and odors persist, repeat application after the area has dried. Highly contaminated areas may require a second application.

Show Me a Sign

JANUARY 10--In what may be the most extreme drunk driving case ever, an Oregon woman was arrested last month with a .72 blood alcohol level--nine times the state's legal limit. Terri Comer, 42, was arrested after she was discovered unconscious in her car, which sheriff's deputies found running and in a snow bank on a highway in Klamath County at 11:30 AM on December 28. After breaking a car window, rescuers removed the comatose Comer from her Toyota and transported her to a local hospital, where a blood draw revealed the .72 BAC. She was reportedly hospitalized for a day before being released. As seen in a police photo, Comer's vehicle came to a stop about 50 feet in front of one of those portable traffic signs reminding motorists not to drink and drive (a close-up of the sign can be seen here). Comer in a 2006 had a prior drunk driving arrest. In her case, Harper's BAC was measured at .55. Comer's .72 edges out what TSG has previously identified as the highest BAC we've ever seen. That fallen record (.69) was held by Willard Ashley III, an Indiana man who was busted in October 2003.In that case, her BAC was recorded in the relatively minor .3 range. In November, another Oregon woman, Meagan Harper, was nabbed for drunk driving with an extreme BAC. In her case, Harper's BAC was measured at .55. Comer's .72 edges out what TSG has previously identified as the highest BAC we've ever seen. That fallen record (.69) was held by Willard Ashley III, an Indiana man who was busted in October 2003.

Let it Snow

The only draw back to power is that it has to snow.. Lots of blowing and snowing but we still had a great time..

Amy has the moves, just look at her in action.. It's must be the new skis (K2 Burn'n Luv). I got a full day in on my new board (Burton Custom X). We are finding it a lot harder to ski in the powder than the icy groomed trails of the mid-west..

And she took a minute to pose for this one..

SSS

Amy and I had lunch at swanky place... They even had shaving tackle in the bathroom..

Arguably the best lunch experience in the ski industry. Ranked as one of the best on-mountain restaurants in the country, Alpenglow Stube is described by Zagat Survey as "Fabulous old-world food and service and the best setting in the state." Head to the top of North Peak at 11,444 ft , where your boots are exchanged for warm, fuzzy slippers.

Your lunch begins with your choice of two homemade soup du jours. Then take a stroll through our gourmet buffet, where we have a variety of prepared salads, worldly selection of cheeses, freshly baked breads, fresh fruit and smoked seafood. We will then serve you your choice of daily selected entrées. Finish your lunch with the perfect ending and try one of our delicious desserts.

Where are the McIntoshs'

Amy and I are in Keystone, CO. on a little vacation. Amy is attending a course and I'm bumming along. It's tuff but with no kids it hard to find things to do to fill your time..... The weather has been GREAT... It snows every night, providing 3-5 inch's of powder in the morning.. Then sunny all day..

And if your thing about robbing us.. My mom has been nice enough to house and
Joey sit for us...

Room to Grow

Well, Amy and I have been moved in to our new house for just over a month now... It's great... I can't believe how much room we have. It really makes a difference when you have places to put things away..

We had our first dinner party on Dec. 26th. and we really enjoyed it.. And once again had the opportunity to use the best house warming
gift we have ever gotten (thanx Pete and Sarah). We have used it 5 time so far.. It's a party fav...

Also, it took a while to poo in all of the bathrooms (5)..

WWCND vs. WWJD

Believe it or not I know a couple a months ago I was in Vegas at a bachelor party with group of regular dudes and Noel, "a man of god". So when I saw this Jesus action figure. I thought now the universe is complete.... Chuck Norris vs. Jesus...

Enjoy the kung-fu grip of Jesus....
