Play Time...

I stayed in Rochester this weekend to relax and let Amy get caught up on some projects. I also wanted to spend some time with my new toy.

So, this morning I took the Porsche to my favorite breakfast place in Rochester. Then after breakfast I took a quick spin over to my friend Carl’s to show him the car and to look at his toys. Carl has some pretty cool toys…

Well, today was my lucky day. After Carl looked over my car, he got one of his toys off the rack, yes rack.. Carl has 2 lifts in his garage so he can fit 5 cars in a 3 car garage. Yes!!! I got to drive Carl’s 1988(1/2) Ferrari 328 GTS with less than 10K on it…. Very sweet ride.. I felt like Magnum PI.

Later I took a drive up to Wabasha on the always fun HWY 60.. It was kind of a test run for me to learn about the car and what it’s potential might be..

Goal!!!

Amy and I went to our first professional soccer game last night. In fact, it was the first time I had ever watched soccer in person (at any level).. We liked it….

The game was between
FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake. Our team won, FC Dallas, 2 to 1.

There’s lots of things to do in Dallas and the people here @
TSRHC have been extremely generous with their time and resources to make us feel welcome and in making sure we are enjoying ourselves..

And yes we know that we missed the annually
Sim Party, but we still had a great time.. Maybe we will get to go to the Sim Party next year, if we are invited….

Young Hunters Prepare For Youth Hunt

I really miss Michigan sometimes... Here's a feel good story about guns, kids, and the state working to get them into their hands sooner......

New DNR regulations in Michigan are intended to attract new hunters, and many will get their first shot at a buck this weekend. The annual youth deer hunt gives youth from ages 10 to 16 a chance to learn more about the sport.

The two day season has the same general rules as the regular firearm season, but no baiting is allowed. The minimum hunting age has been lowered this year for both big and small game, and a new apprentice license has been adopted.

For more detailed rules on the hunter apprentice program and specific regulations on the youth deer hunt, be sure to consult the 2006 DNR Hunting and Trapping Guide.

Work'n "The Hoe"

Ooooh, a Texas delicacy…. Fried spuds.. These fine ladies actually have garden hoes that they are working the studs around this huge frying pan with.

I don’t know if it’s a good business to be in or not. It seems they’ve been eating into to their profits. You can tell from their sagging bottom line……..

Set It and Forget It...

This weekend Amy and I where at our godson Dalton’s home outside Fort Worth, TX for his 5th Birthday Party, which was actually today (09-11-01).

Dalton’s dad, my cousin Dave, rented this waterslide.. I would have to say that it’s hands down the only way to completely occupy children for hours… Absolute genius… About 10 kids played and played… While adults looked on with minimal effort genius.. And after about 5 hours, every kid was cashed… genius…

Excellent idea Dave (A+)..

I ran across this picture and it really works.. Folding a twenty dollar bill a certain way it will show the World Trade Center buildings on fire.

Scary….. Look at the picture and try it..

New York Minute

This is on the list of places to dine when Amy and I return to Manhattan.

Consigned to dining dinosaurdom since the last Automat closed in 1991, the eatery idea returns to the Big Apple this week with a modern twist.

A team of entrepreneurs is launching Bamn! Automat in the East Village complete with a menu of pizza dumpling, mac-and-cheese pockets and bite-size chicken nuggets.

The 600-square-foot eatery offers a tiny storefront and no seats. Designed for hip, barhopping, schedule-lacking students and nostalgic tourists, the St. Marks Place store will be open 24 hours.

Best of all, the price is still hard to beat: Most items cost less than $3.
